Obituary

Patricia Mary Krzastek (Harte) passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024, at the age of 93.  She was born in Passaic on March 11, 1931 and lived most of her life in Passaic.  She attended St. Nicholas School and graduated from Pope Pius XII High School, class of 1949. Patricia worked at the Howard Zink, Corp. and Bartman and Bixer, where she met the love of her life, Theodore Krzastek. They were married in 1953 and shortly after settled in Passaic where she raised a lovely family of seven children.  She thoroughly enjoyed being a housewife and a mom and eventually a Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

"Patsy", smiling, witty, and quick with a joke, always held her family close while also never hesitating to help others. She was a social leader, keeping family and friends in touch through many holiday and informal gatherings. She loved celebrating her Irish heritage, especially around St Patrick's Day. Full of Irish hospitality, Patsy always welcomed anyone to stop by for a "cuppa".

Patricia was a parishioner of St. John Kanty Church.  She enjoyed bowling, participating in the Van Houten Lanes Women's League for many years. She loved sewing and created many items including uniforms for St. John Kanty cheerleaders, communion dresses for her daughters, bridesmaid dresses and many outfits for the family over the years. She worked in Food Services for the Passaic Public Schools for 20 years where "Pat" made great friends, and was immensely favored by many of the students.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Theodore, her parents John Harte Sr and Rosie O'Grady, her brothers John Jr, James and Frank Harte and her sisters Rose Shanahan, Margaret Yenesel and Emily (June) Linzalone. She is survived by her children Theodore, Jr., and wife Diane, Alan, Robert, Kathleen and husband Gabriel Velueta, Patrick and wife Bridget, Laura and husband Edward Hojecki, and Kenneth and wife Danielle, and her seventeen Grandchildren Keith, Jonathan, Kelli, Jennifer, Allison, Eric, Shelby, Bradon, Alex, Erin, Kyle, Casey, Kerry, Cameron, Shane, Logan, and Riley, and ten Great-Grandchildren Luca, Mila, Anthony, Juliana, Emma, Mya, Autumn, Fionnuala, Ruairi, Grayson, and many nieces and nephews which she adored.
