Pamela (Cerza) Longo, 74, of Wayne passed away peacefully on June 11, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. Pamela was born and raised in Paterson and spent the entirety of her adult life as a resident of Wayne with her husband of 50 years, Donald and daughter Alessandra. Pamela dedicated her life to teaching and her last job was as principal of Pines Lake School. Pamela impacted many lives there and continued contact with many of the staff and families until her death.

Pamela was artistic, compassionate, and filled with a constant desire to learn. Pamela was raised in a large Italian family where Sunday dinner was a cherished activity. Pamela always spoke fondly of those memories and those involved and was sure to instill that love into those remaining. Pamela is survived by her husband Donald, daughter Alessandra and son-in-law Juan. Pamela is also survived by her cousin John, who was raised like her sibling, and his wife Maria and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Pamela left this realm with a deep acceptance that death is not separate from life and faced this truth with a rare courage bestowed upon her through rigorous self-study and opposite action to fear.

Cremation was private under the direction of the Shook Funeral Home, Clifton. In lieu of gifts, the family is requesting donations to the American Heart Association.
