Omelio Saavedra, 86, of Passaic passed away on May 6, 2024. Born in Camaguey, Cuba, he traveled to the US in 1971 and settled in Passaic. Omelio was the owner and operator of North Passaic Laundromat, Passaic, for 30 years before retiring.

Beloved husband for 62 years of Ziola (Leon del Toro) Saavedra. Devoted father of Omelio A. Saavedra and his wife Nicole and Yvonne "Eve" Rekker and her husband Dr. Robert Rekker. Loving grandfather of Omelio A. Saavedra, Jr. and his wife Sujitha Sampath, Eugene, Nicholas and Antonio Saavedra, and Robert X. Rekker. Cherished great-grandfather of Soraya, Ariela and Omelio Saavedra.
