Olga Miketzuk, 94, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 31, at her home in Clifton.
She was born in Plains, PA, and lived there and in Wilkes-Barre, PA, before moving to NJ as a teenager. There she lived in Little Falls until her marriage to Andrew Miketzuk in 1950, when she moved to Clifton where she lived the rest of her life.
She was a legal secretary, last working for Judge Elmer Friedbauer in Passaic before retiring 45 years ago.
An avid crafter, she was always knitting, crocheting or quilting. She was a member of the Clifton Library's Knitting Club and donated handmade items to Warm the Children, an outreach of St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in Clifton, and other local charities.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church in Singac where she served on the Restoration Committee and the St. Ann's Society. She and a group of other church members and volunteers made quilts for the church to raffle and sell.
Olga was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Miketzuk; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph Mirowsky and his wife Julia, Andrew Mirowsky and his wife Melania, and Nicholas Mirowsky and his wife Sonia; her brother-in-law, Milan Carl Pavlicko; her grandson, Gregory Miketzuk; and her son-in-law, John Migton.
She is survived by her son, Andrew Miketzuk and his wife Joyce; her daughter, Joan Migton; her sister-in-law, Helen Pavlicko; three granddaughters, Barbara and Christine Migton and Joy Miketzuk; eight nieces and nephews, and her grand dog, Lolli.
Funeral Thursday 9:15 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10:30 AM at the Russian Orthodox Church of Three Saints , Garfield. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Wednesday 3-5 PM at the funeral home.
