Nicholas Komanesky, 91, of Garfield, passed away on November 9, 2018, in the house he was born and lived in his entire life.
A parishioner of Ss. Peter and Paul's Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Passaic, Nicholas was a Quality Control Inspector for Bendix Corp. in Teterboro, where he worked for 44 years, retiring in 1992. Nicholas was an Army Veteran who proudly served his country during WW II. A FCC Licensed Ham Radio Operator, Nicholas was a member of the Garfield Senior Citizens, the Garfield AARP, and was voted "Father of the Year" by AARP in 2009.
Beloved husband for 56 years of Maria (Lewczyk). Devoted father of John Komanesky of Garfield, Diana Komanesky-Boney and her husband Timothy of Scotch Plains, Sharon Komanesky-DeVito and her husband Lawrence of Easton, PA, and Karen Brenycz and her husband Eugene of Flemington. Loving grandfather of Nicholas, Julia, Sophia, Lawrence, Nadia and Michael.
Funeral Monday 9:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 11 AM at Ss. Peter and Paul's Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Passaic. Interment, Ss. Peter and Paul's Russian Orthodox Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Visiting Sunday 2-6 PM at the funeral home, Parastas at 5 PM.
