Nellie (Ochab) Gaczek, 94, of Garfield passed away on March 13, 2011. Born in Garfield, she lived there for all of her life.

A parishioner of St. Joseph's RC Church, Passaic, Nellie was a member of the ILGWU Local #145, the Garfield Senior Citizens and a former member of the Garfield Golden Agers. Nellie worked as a Garment Worker for Merit Garment Co., Garfield, for 17 years before retiring in 1973.

Beloved wife of the late Walter, who passed away in 2001. Devoted mother of Arlene Popovich and her husband Thomas Piascik of Little Ferry. Cherished grandmother of Michelle Kasperowicz and her husband Konrad, and John David Popovich. Dear sister of Frank Ochab of Wayne and the late Anthony, Anna Mysliwy, Sophie Wegrzyniak, and Joseph.

Funeral Thursday, 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Joseph's RC Church. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Visiting, Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. www.shookfh.com
