Mohan Ayyar, 80, of Midland Park, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024. Born into a large family in Chennai, India, Mohan moved to the United States in 1990, making New Jersey his home and building a lasting legacy.

A beloved husband of 44 years to Vanaja Mohan, Mohan was a devoted father to Ajay Mohan, Ajita Shah, and Ajeet Mohan. He was also deeply loved by his son-in-law, Meet Shah, and daughter-in-law, Moneek Madra. A proud grandfather to his five cherished grandchildren—Aarav, Devon, Norah, Myra, and Aami—Mohan's love for his family was boundless.

Mohan was deeply connected to his roots and cared profoundly for his siblings. He is survived by his four brothers—Sundaram, Jayaraman, Nagarajan, and Venketeswaran—and three sisters—Bragam, Bhanumathi, and Rajeshwari. Known for his ambitious and entrepreneurial spirit, Mohan worked tirelessly throughout his life, inspiring those around him with his dedication. His sense of humor, paired with an unforgettable laugh, brightened the lives of everyone he met. He also shared a lifelong passion for tennis and classic films.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, November 16, from 8:45 to 10:45 AM at Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. A cremation service will follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton.
