Michal Padko, 87, of Clifton, passed away on September 8, 2018. Born in Ukraine, he came to the US in October of 1962 and lived in Passaic before moving to Clifton in 1967.
A parishioner of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Passaic, Michal sang in the Choir and was a member of the Senior's Club. Michal was a Precision Welder for Servometer in Cedar Grove for over 25 years, retiring in 1998.
When living in Poland, Michal was a Tailor and had also served with the Army. Michal was a musician and enjoyed playing the drums, accordion and harmonica in his family band.
Beloved husband for 61 years of the late Olga (Smolak) who passed away in 2017. Devoted father of Darius of Hopatcong, Arthur and his wife Ann of Landing, Jerry of Clifton, and Orest and his wife Dorothy of Pequannock. Loving grandfather of Adrian, Tanya, Tamara, Lauren and Holly. Cherished great grandfather of Nicholas. The third of six children, Michal is the loving brother of his younger siblings Czeslawa Gnap of Manville, Zofia Natkanska and Joseph Patko, both of Poland.
Funeral Tuesday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, Passaic. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Visiting Monday 4-8 PM at the funeral home, Parastas at 7:30 PM.
