Maximo Broja, 87, of Clifton, passed away on September 8, 2014. Born in Callao, Peru, he came to the United States 30 years ago and lived in Paterson before moving to Clifton in 2001. A parishioner of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Paterson, Maximo was a Cattleman in Peru for many years, retiring several years ago, and was a member of Mi Casa, Su Casa. Beloved husband for 57 years of the late Delia C. (Leon), who passed away in January. Beloved father of Alina Luna and her husband Julio of Moses Lake, WA, Julia Diaz and her husband Raul of Fort Collins, CO, Maria Borja and her fiancé Victor Casariego of Clifton, Lidia Jobeless of Clifton, and Delia Gutierrez of Bloomingdale. Loving grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Memorial Gathering Thursday 6-9 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Cremation was private. In lieu of flowers, donations made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.St.Jude.org, in memory of Maximo, would be greatly appreciated.
