Matthew Dec, 90, of Clifton, passed away on August 18, 2012. Born in Garfield, he lived there before moving to Clifton in 1953. A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Matthew was a Lab Technician for Bayer Corp. in Haledon for over 29 years, retiring in 1987. A US Army Air Force Veteran during WW II, Matthew served as a Bombardier Navigator on a B-29 Super Fortress, and was a member of the Quentin-Roosevelt Memorial Post # 8, Clifton and AARP. Beloved husband of the late Helen E. (Dudzik). Devoted father of Rev. Allan (Ignatius) Dec of Most Holy Trinity Monastery, Petersham, MA. Dear brother of Teresa "Tess" Van Seters of Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. Funeral Wednesday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton.
