Maryan
Vasyuta
September 9, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maryan Vasyuta on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at the age of 61. Maryan is survived by his wife Marusia of nearly 40 years, his two daughters Tanya and Marta as well as his granddaughter Sofia Chernyshenko. He will be deeply missed by his mother Kateryna Vasyuta, his father, Ivan Vasyuta (predeceased) sisters, brother and his extended family and friends in U.S.A, Canada and Ukraine.
Maryan was born on July 30th, 1960 in Chernyava, Mostyska Rayon, Lvivska Oblast. After completing his undergraduate schooling, he proceeded to fulfill his mandatory two year service in the Ukrainian Army. He returned to his studies earning a veterinary degree. Soon, he met the love of his life – Marusia, and they were married on July 30, 1983. They lived in the city of Sambir raising their two daughters. Recognizing the challenges of living in Ukraine, they decided to search for a better life beyond Ukraine. In 1995, Maryan and Marusha arrived in the United States. Like all immigrants, they were challenged with language barriers, cultural differences and succeeded with limited support.
Maryan loved the United States for welcoming him and his family yet he remembered his roots. He was a very positive, and a generous family member and friend. He had an infectious merriment for life – he enjoyed singing, dancing, teasing others, discussing politics and sharing his love of life with others. We will miss him terribly and we will treasure our memories of him!
Panachyda and visitation will be held at Shook Funeral Home (639 Van Houten Ave, Clifton, NJ), Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 3 - 6PM with services at 4PM.
Pochoron - funeral and interment in Ukraine to follow.
