Mary M. (Vieira) Pontes, 91, of Wayne passed away on March 24, 2018. Born in Elizabeth, Mary lived on Madiera Island, Portugal, before moving to Clifton in 1946 and later to Wayne in 2003. Mary was a seamstress for over 25 years in Clifton and Passaic and was a former parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, where she was active in the Rosary and Altar Society.
Beloved wife of the late Louis who passed away in 2002. Devoted mother of Joseph of Phoenix, AZ, John and his wife Carol of Clifton, Louis, Jr. of West Milford, and Mary Jane Bevin and her husband Ron of The Villages, FL. Cherished grandmother of Deirdre Pontes, Joseph Pontes and his wife Marlo, Jessica Smith and her husband Justin, Stephanie Pontes, and Louis Pontes III. Loving great-grandmother of Athena and Isabella Pontes. Dear sister of the late John and Helen Vieira.
