Mary Madden, 95, of Bloomfield passed away on January 2, 2023. Born in Leeks County, Ireland, she traveled to the US and first lived in Newark before settling in Bloomfield. Mary was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She was a woman of great faith in God. She was a source of boundless kindness and support to those who knew her.

Her kindness knew no limits whether it was cleaning the church, donating her time to many festivals, and donating to many charities. One of her most memorable sayings was that a kind word goes a long way and she lived up to that every day. She was a genuine and caring person who always took interest in whatever anyone had to say. Mary enjoyed waitressing at the Coronet, The Clippership, and the Robert Treat Hotel.

Beloved wife of the late Gerard Madden. Devoted mother of John Madden and his wife Pattyann, Rosemary Madden, Anna Wanetick and her husband Michael and the late Daniel F. Madden. Loving mother-in-law of Marcy Madden. Cherished grandmother of Jeremy, Michael, Jena, Shawn and his wife Chelsea and Corey. Mary will be greatly missed by her furry companion Chloe.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023, 10 AM at St. Valentine's RC Church, 125 N Spring St., Bloomfield.
