Mary (Skoratowicz) Leschynski, 89, of Garfield, passed away on May 31, 2013 after a long illness. Born in Garfield in 1923, she was a lifelong resident. A parishioner of Ss. Peter and Paul Polish National Catholic Church, Passaic, Mary was a member and former vice president of the Adoration Society. Mary attended Garfield Schools and was a lifelong member of the Garfield Parent Teachers Association. Active with the Boy Scouts with her late husband for over 40 years, Mary was a Commissioner for over 20 years with the Southern Valley District serving Pack 40 and Troops 13 & 40. Mary was a Department Manager for both Sears, Roebuck & Co. in Passaic and Alexander's in Paramus. Later she worked in the Hand Bag Department of Saks Fifth Avenue in Riverside Square in Hackensack, specializing in Louis Vuitton. Mary also worked for Sabini Travel in Garfield for 30 years as a Travel Agent, Tour Escort and Tour Manager, and traveled on cruises around the world with her husband and daughter. Beloved wife for 65 years of the late Richard who passed away on September 30, 2012. Devoted mother of Laura Leschynski of Garfield, and the late Richard. Loving grandmother of the late Richard. Dear sister of Helen Skoratowicz of NYC, cherished sister in law of Regina Colatsky and her husband Al of Clifton. Also survived by many dear friends. Funeral Thursday 10:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 12 Noon at Ss. Peter and Paul's Polish National Catholic Church, Passaic. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
