Marie E. (Opalenik) Shelby, 91, of Brielle passed away on September 26, 2013. Born in New Britain, CT., she lived in Passaic for many years before moving to Brielle 4 years ago. A former parishioner of St. Nicholas RC Church, Passaic, Marie was the Head of the Duplication Department for Fairleigh Dickinson University in Rutherford where she worked for 25 years, retiring in 1987. Beloved wife of the late Edward who passed away in 2005. Devoted mother of Karen Smith and her husband Michael of Brielle. Loving grandmother of Erin Shelby Smith, Meghan Marie Smith and Jodie Ricciardi. Cherished great grandmother of Patrick A.R. Smith. Dear sister of the late Lee Sullivan, Ella Dobol, George, John, Nicholas and Barbara Opalenik. Cremation was private. Burial of Ashes will be 11 AM, Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Crest Haven Memorial Park, cor. Passaic Ave. and Allwood Rd., Clifton.
