Obituary

Marie Lacquaniti, née Capuano, 95 of Passaic, passed away on September 11, 2024. Born, raised, and educated in the city of Passaic, she chose to make it her lifelong home. A parishioner of St. Clare's RC Church, Clifton, Marie was a Customer Service Supervisor for the Passaic Valley Water Commision, where she worked for 20 years, before retiring many years ago. A member of the Athenia Veterans Post Ladies Auxiliary, Clifton, Marie belonged to the Clifton Seniors and enjoyed baking, reading, and above all spending time with her family.

Marie, grew up on Tulip St. a short distance from her father's Cappy's Bakery where she worked behind the counter. It was at the bakery, where a customer stopping for a loaf of bread would become smitten and ask her to be his wife. The daughter of Italian immigrants, Marie was fiercely proud of her Italian heritage and made sure to instill the traditions and values of the old country to her family.

Beloved wife of the late John Lacquaniti who passed away in 2017. Devoted mother of Frances King and her late husband Andrew of West Caldwell, and Frank Lacquaniti and his wife Mary of Doylestown, PA. Loving grandmother of Frank Lacquaniti and his wife Stephanie, Megan King and her partner Jeffrey, Michele Lacquaniti-Terra, and Kellianne King-Fanuele and her husband Daniel. Cherished great grandmother of Madison and Dominic Lacquaniti, Sophia and Emilia Terra, Lillian Fanuele and a baby girl Fanuele due in early October.
