Marie A. Kennedy's Obituary
Marie A. Kennedy, 94, of Paterson, passed away on September 10, 2017. Born in Paterson, she was a lifelong resident.
An active parishioner of St. George's RC Church, Paterson, Marie served as Trustee and Lector for many years and was a member of the Rosary Society.
Marie worked for New Jersey Bell, later AT&T, for over 43 years, retiring in 1984. Miss Kennedy had served at the Paterson Office since joining NJ Bell in 1941 as a Ticket Sorting Clerk. She later held positions of Toll Adding Clerk, Toll Billing Clerk, Ticket Investigating Clerk and Accounts Order Clerk. Appointed an Assistant Accounts Supervisor in March, 1954, she became Toll Supervisor a year later.
Marie retired from AT&T in 1984 as a Staff Manager and Computer Analyst. After retiring, Marie was active with the Bell Telephone Pioneers, making baskets of clothing and supplies for newborns at St. Joseph's Hospital, and Blood Pressure Monitoring Clinics.

Devoted daughter of the late John and Mary (Haeussler) Kennedy. Beloved sister of the late John "Jack" Kennedy who passed away in 1983. Loving cousin of Karen Kattwinkel, Maria Sobieska and Gordon Brozina.
A visitation was held at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday, September 13, at St. Brendan's RC Church, Clifton. Interment followed at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa.
At Marie's request a private funeral was held for her devoted cousins Karen Kattwinkel, Maria Sobieska and Gordon Brozina, Nardia her caregiver, and church friends who stayed the course with her through her two and a half year long illness. Karen Kattwinkel spoke during the funeral mass on faith and the resurrection.
