Maria Modła, 87, of Garfield passed away on February 16, 2024. Born in Podczerwony, Poland, she came to the US in 1981 and first settled in Clifton before moving to Garfield in 2005.

Beloved wife of the late Edmund who passed away in 1981. Devoted mother of Kazimierz Modła and his wife Jolanta of South Hackensack, Zofia Bernatowicz of Garfield, and Margaret Olszak and her husband Andrzej of Clifton. Dear grandmother of Isabella, Anna, Iwona, Anna, Andrzej, Konrad, Tomasz, and Michael. Great grandmother of Arlo. Dear sister of Jozefa Obrochta and the late Jozef Leja, Zofia Skvarkowa, Ludwika Balinska, Wladyslawa Karcz, and Anna Majerczyk.

Visiting Tuesday 4-8PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Wednesday 8:45 at the funeral home and 10AM at Holy Rosary RC Church, Passaic. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
