Maria Lesniewski, 95, of Woodcliff Lake, formerly of Clifton, passed away on April 16, 2020. Born in Krsko, Slovenia, She arrived on Ellis Island with her husband and two daughters from Germany on November 14, 1951. They eventually bought property and built a home in Clifton, this is where they raised their family. In 2018, she moved to Woodcliff Lake. A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Maria worked as a Bookkeeper, retiring many years ago. Maria was a very caring, kind, generous, and loving person, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Maria was proficient in 5 languages, she could speak, read and write in all of them, and was a great hostess and loved to cook and bake. Maria loved to sew, and used to make all her daughters' dresses and clothing when they were young. She was also an avid reader.

Until Maria was no longer able, she loved to walk, and until she could no longer drive, she would drive to the gym to exercise.

Beloved wife of the late Stefan who passed away in 1991. Devoted mother of the late Maria Lesniewski who passed away in 2000, and late Irene Lesniewski who passed away in 2018. Dear sister of Julcie Pavlin of Slovenia, and the late Alois Pavlin.

Funeral services are private under the direction of the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Maria was laid to rest with her husband and daughters in East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
