Margaret (Svec) Grifo, 93, of Clifton passed away on December 8, 2013. Born in Passaic, she was a resident of Clifton all of her life. Margaret was an Office Manager for MetLife, Passaic, for nearly 40 years before retiring in 1980. A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Margaret was a member of the Golden Circle there and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Regina Mundi Council #3969 and the Athenia Veterans Post Ladies Auxiliary, all of Clifton. Beloved wife of the late Salvatore "Sam", who passed away in 2001. Devoted mother of Paula Hopkins and her husband Robert of Edison and Brian Grifo and his wife Karen of Clifton. Cherished grandmother of Patricia Braddock, Stephen, Robert and Kevin Hopkins, Stephanie Heart, Jason and Lisa Grifo, and 6 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Elizabeth Daniel and Joseph Svec. Loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. Funeral Wednesday 10 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 11 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Saddle Brook. Visiting Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
