Having lived a full life of 89 years, Madhuben Surbhai Desai of Passaic, NJ born on March 22, 1932 in Kalthan, India transitioned as peacefully and comfortably as possible at home on January, 26, 2022 at 9:56am. Ben, as she was endearingly called by family and friends, shared the last few days of her life with her remaining four generations of family members.

She was the beloved daughter of the Late Maniben and Late Kandubhai Desai; sister to Late Savita, Hariprasad, and Suresh Desai; devoted wife to Late Surbhai Paragji Desai; loving mother to Satish, Anjana, Chetan, and Kamlesh Desai along with daughter in laws Maya, Hina, Bhavna and son in law Rajesh Desai; deeply loved grandmother of Poonam, Gaurav, Nitu, Jasmin, Rina, Bimal, Priyanka, Jayshil, and Deepesh Desai; grandmother in law to Jerome, Sachin, and Tanvir; and a blessed great grandmother to Ria and Zara Ramgobin.

After immigrating to Passaic, NJ from Kosamba, India in 1976, Ben briefly worked at Keystone Camera and later proudly remained the matriarch and homemaker to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Shook Funeral Home in Clifton, NJ from 9am - 11am, immediately followed by cremation at East Ridgelawn Cemetery in Clifton, NJ at 11:30am.

As we are in a pandemic, the family understands if you cannot physically be present for the services; therefore, livestream of the viewing will be available.
