Louis R. Shurbetz, 90, of West Caldwell, passed away on November 2, 2015. He was a Saint on earth and now he is a Saint in Heaven. Born in Clifton, he was a lifelong resident of Clifton before moving to West Caldwell 5 years ago. A parishioner of Holy Rosary RC Church, Passaic, Louis was an Army Veteran during WW II, and was a Purple Heart Recipient. A Textile Printer for Union Textile in Secaucus for over 25 years, Louis loved to garden, especially roses, and spending time with his family. Beloved husband of the late Helen (Kobylarz) who passed away in 1987. Devoted father of Marcia Louise Venturi of West Caldwell. Loving grandfather of John Louis Venturi and his wife Karla of Catawissa, PA. Cherished great grandfather of Louis, John Karlo, and Mia. The family would like to extend a word of appreciation to the doctors who took such great care of him and allowed him extra time with his family. Funeral Friday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at Holy Rosary RC Church, Passaic. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack. Visiting Thursday 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
