Leona A. (Zielinski) Cherniak, 80, of Pequannock, passed away on October 18, 2013. Born in Cannonsburg, PA, she lived in Passaic before moving to Pequannock in 1960. A parishioner of Ss. Peter and Paul Polish National Catholic Church, Passaic, Leona was a member of the Moniuszko Choir. Leona was a Secretary for State Farm Insurance on Rt. 23 in Wayne for 25 years, retiring in 1998. Beloved wife for 59 years of Raymond, Sr.. Devoted mother of Raymond Joseph Cherniak, Jr. and his wife Helen of Pompton Plains, and David Peter Cherniak and his wife Alicia of Hackettstown. Loving grandmother of Jessica, Caitlin and Erin. Dear sister of Frances Zielinski, Annamay Grap, Josephine Day, Jean Zielinski, and the late Sophia, Peter and John Zielinski. Funeral Monday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at Ss. Peter and Paul PNC Church, Passaic. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Sunday 2-4 PM at the funeral home.
