Kenneth T. Salerno, 53, of Pequannock, passed away on March 11, 2012 surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. Born in Passaic, he was raised in Clifton and lived in Butler before moving to Pequannock several years ago. A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Ken was a Firefighter for the Clifton Fire Department for 29 years, retiring in 2009. Ken was stationed at Station # 6 on Van Houten Ave., and later at Station # 5 on Brighton Rd. for many years, and is a member of Clifton FMBA #21. Beloved husband for 25 years of Roberta (Relyea). Devoted father of Thomas "Tom" and Allison "Ally" Salerno, both at home. Loving son of Thomas J. and Patricia (Yutko) Salerno of Clifton. Dear brother of the late Alan who died in 2000. Funeral Thursday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment, Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Upper Montclair.
