Kazimierz "Casey" Mateja, 70, of Woodland Park passed away on March 31, 2023. Born in Podczerwone, Poland, he traveled to the US in 1970 and lived in Chicago, he also lived in Clifton before settling in Woodland Park 31 years ago. Casey worked in construction for Atlantic Casting, Clifton, for many years before becoming disabled in 1985. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and playing soccer.

Casey was predeceased by his parents Andrzej Mateja and Zofia (Szaflarska) and his brothers, Stanislaw Szaflarski and Mieczyslaw Myrda.

Beloved husband for 45 years of Anna (Cuber) Mateja. Devoted father of Robert K. C. Mateja. Dear brother-in-law of Sophie Cuber. Casey will be greatly missed by his extended family in Poland, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visiting Tuesday 4 – 6 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Service Wednesday 8:45 AM at the funeral home and 10 AM at St Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Passaic. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, S. Hackensack.
