Obituary

The loss of a strong matriarch is no small one. Kazimiera Paczek Grzebyk was a force of nature. She was born in Lutoryż, Poland nearly 95 years ago on March 27th, 1929. This is where she worked on her family's farm, survived WWII, and had big dreams about leaving home and making a life for herself.

At 16 she left behind her large family of 7 siblings and her two parents: Wojciech and Ewa. She set out to go to bookkeeping school, in Rzeszów, Poland, the town where she met her husband, Stefan. After marrying in 1957 and having their daughters, Mirosława and Danusia, their plans to move to America became a reality. They arrived in America in 1962 settling in Wallington, NJ. Here she worked as a seamstress making bathing suits for Gramercy Mills, a factory in Passaic, NJ.

With hard work and determination, she was able to build a home from the ground up in East Rutherford. This is where she lived out her long life with her garden, her two grandchildren, her husband, and two daughters. She was a fearless, tough lover, who was able to grow just about anything and would give anything to the ones she loved. She passed on August 7th, 2023 leaving behind family in Poland and lineage in the USA. Long live Kazia!
