It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kamlaben Desai, more affectionately known as Kamuba. She was born August 25, 1924, in Gujurat, India.

She came from humble beginnings and settled down in a rural town with her husband to lay the foundation for their eight children. With the growing family business, being one of the first chiku farms in Gujarat, her passion for cooking and caring for others radiated throughout the family.

As the matriarch of the family, she celebrated her 100th birthday this past summer with her beloved family around her. Family meant everything to her. Her love, compassion, and selflessness always shined as bright as her infectious smile, which brightened up the entire room.  She will be dearly missed by her family and survived by her children, Gunvantra Desai, Ilaben Desai, Kishorchandra Desai, Sharad Desai, Muktaben Desai, Lina Mehta, Sanjay Desai, and the late Prakash Desai, 15 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Visiting and Funeral Services, Wednesday, December 18, 2024, 9-11 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Cremation to follow at East Ridgelawn Cemetery at 11:30 AM.
