Kaliksta Stepien, 91, of Clifton peacefully passed away on April 24, 2024.

Born in Poland, she came to the US in 1965 and lived in Passaic before settling down in Clifton 40 years ago.  Kaliksta was a seamstress for many years retiring in 1994.  Before coming to America she was a farmer, tending to her garden and caring for her animals.  She was a parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church (Clifton) and a former parishioner of St Joseph RC Church (Passaic). She was devoted to her faith, praying the rosary everyday.

Beloved Mother of Edward Stepien and his wife Jane, Christina Karcz and her husband John, all of Clifton.  Loving Grandmother of Michael Stepien and his wife Jill, Kimberly Salacki and her husband Bryan, James Stepien and his wife Alice, Renee Dwornicki and her husband Andrzej, Christopher Karcz and his wife Sania, Danielle Linteris and her husband Justin.  Cherished great Grandmother of Bailey, Aidan, Taylor, Nikodem, Adrianna, Stanislaw, Jaxson, Brody, Andrew, Emma, Laila, Jack, Cole, and Kamila.  Dear sister of the late Valentyna Filatow, Emilia Zdanowicz, Maria Woronik, and Mietek Cwiklinski.

Kaliksta adored spending time with her family.  Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the treasures of her life and she spent her time creating moments and memories with them.  Her passions were sewing, baking, and taking care of her plants.  Her family knew that every birthday celebration would be met with a special babka baked in their honor.  She enjoyed family gatherings and sharing her Polish traditions.

Visiting Monday, April 29, 2024, 4-8 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton. Funeral Tuesday, April 30, 2024, 8:45 AM at the funeral home and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
