Julio Tavares' Obituary
Julio Tavares, 90, of Rockaway, passed away on April 23, 2018. Born in New York City, he lived in Passaic before moving to Rockaway 13 years ago. An Army Veteran of WW II, Julio was a Color Controller for TVC and later Pathe Lab, NYC, for 38 years, retiring in 1992.
Beloved husband for 68 years of Sabina. Devoted father of Virginia Krostek and her husband Richard of Mendham, and Evelyn Nikolayew and her husband Nicholas of Rockaway. Loving grandfather of Nicholas, Jr., and Michael Nikolayew, Richard Krostek, Jr., and his wife Jessica, Laura Nikolayew, and Jacklyn Krostek. Dear brother of Iris Rivera of Clifton, and the late Rudolph and Carlos Tavares.
Funeral Thursday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, Clifton. Cremation, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Wednesday 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
