Josephine (LaGala) Giordano, 95, from Ashland,MA passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at St. Patrick's Manor, Framingham, MA. Born in Passaic, she lived there most of her life before moving to Ashland 5 years ago. A former parishioner of St. Nicholas RC Church, Passaic, Josephine was a Dress Maker for Edward Merlino Dress Co. in Passaic for 30 years, retiring in 1988. Josephine was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and a member of the Radcliff Woman's Club. Beloved wife of the late Paul Giordano, who died July 21, 1977. Loving daughter of the late Antonio and Rosalie (LiPari) LaGala. Devoted mother of Maria Batistoni and her husband Joseph of Kentucky, Rosalie Vendetti and her husband Edmund of Massachusetts, and Dr. Paul Giordano and his wife Rose of Minnesota. Cherished grandmother of Rosalie Dawn McNeilly and her husband Stuart, Joseph Batistoni, Mark Vendetti and his wife Lisa, Lauren Vendetti, Melissa Wilde and her husband Joseph, and Diana Lyn Wallace and her husband John. Loving great-grandmother of Serena Josephine and Emerson Grace McNeilly, P.J. and Sophia Wilde, and Ava Elizabeth Vendetti. Dear sister of Rose LaGala of Passaic, and the late Frank LaGala of Passaic, Charles LaGala of Elmwood Park, Mary Comperatore and Frances Marte of Clifton, Jennie LaGala, Lena LaGala, and Doris LaGala of Passaic. Funeral Wednesday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. NicholasRC Church, Passaic. Interment, St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. Visiting Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
