Obituary

Joseph Anthony Wegrzyniak, Jr., 85, of Clifton, passed away on December 24, 2016. Born in Garfield, he lived in Midland Park and has been a resident of Clifton most of his life.

On October 6, 1951, he married the love of his life, Marian Grabkowski Wegrzyniak. Joe is preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, his parents Joseph and Sophie Ochab Wegrzyniak, daughter Joyce Mihalik, and granddaughter Mia Generalli.

Joe graduated Garfield High School in 1949. He was employed at Hayden Chemical in Garfield and was a department foreman at Matheson Gas Products. He was a member of the Holy Name Cadets Drum and Bugle Corp and their Alumni Association. As a member of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Joe was a member of the Regina Mundi Knights of Columbus Council #3969. Joe loved to travel in his motor home and was part of the Twentieth Century Wagoneers. He enjoyed his friends and visiting new places. Joe was an avid football fan cheering his favorite teams, the Giants, Ohio State Buckeys and the Point Pleasant Beach High School.

Beloved father of Susan Wasmund and her husband Rob of Westerville, OH, Edward and his wife Nancy of Clifton, Beth Generalli and her husband Ernie of Chestnut Ridge, NY, and Joseph M. of Pt. Pleasant Beach. Loving grandfather of Megan and John Wasmund, Ann Marie and Katie Mihalik, Jake, Rose Tui and August Generalli, and Nicole, Joseph T., and Mikala Wegrzyniak. Cherished great grandfather of Oliver and Caitlin. Dear brother of Roberta Kistler and her husband Jim of Bloomsburg, PA.

Funeral Thursday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Cremation, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Wednesday 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
