Joseph C. Routis, 72, of Clifton, passed away on February 1, 2026. Born in Manhattan, he resided in Jersey City before settling in Clifton in 2008. A devoted member of Calvary Temple International in Wayne, Joseph was the owner of Handyman of America in Jersey City for the past 16 years and proudly held a New Jersey Master HVAC License.

Joseph was also a dedicated member of the Philippine Integrated Martial Arts Academy in Jersey City. A highly respected student and teacher, he earned a black belt in Eskrima, Kali, and Arnis, and he was an avid practitioner of Bruneian Silat. His students affectionately knew him as "Guru Joe."

He had a lifelong passion for combat sports and rarely missed an opportunity to watch wrestling or martial arts matches. Joseph cherished family outings, fishing trips, and peaceful moments at home with his beloved cats, Ember and Smokey. Above all else, he devoted his life to helping others—always placing his customers' needs first and ensuring families stayed warm through his HVAC service, delivered with exceptional care, dedication, and selflessness.

Beloved husband of Jennifer (Navalta) Routis. Devoted father of Joseph N. Routis Jr. and Johnathan N. Routis. Dear brother of James Routis.

Visiting will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 9–10 AM at Calvary Temple International, 1111 Preakness Ave., Wayne. A funeral service will begin at 10 AM. Cremation will be private.
