Joseph A. Rizzo, 89, of Clifton on May 14, 2010. Born in Jersey City, Joseph lived in Passaic, before moving to Clifton 11 years ago.

A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, Joseph was a 3rd Degree member of Perez Council #262, Knights of Columbus, Passaic, and a Devotee of The Shrine of St. Jude at Our Lady of Victories RC Church, Paterson.

Before retiring in 1986, Joseph worked for Hercules Heat Treating in Brooklyn for 30 years. An Army Veteran of WW II, Joseph was a member of the American Legion, and received a Freedom Team Salute Commendation from the American Legion Department of New Jersey.

Beloved husband of the late Sadie (Alfieri), who died in 2009. Devoted father of Carolynn Rivieccio and her husband Vincent of Clifton, Ross and his wife Christie of North Haledon, Mary Jo Lyons and her husband Thomas of Passaic, and Judy Ann Graham and her husband John of Clifton. Loving grandfather of 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral Tuesday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visiting Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
