Joseph Norman, 72, of New Jersey, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson, New Jersey. He was born on December 20, 1953, in Lincolnton, Georgia then moved to New Jersey and settled in Passaic with his family.

Joseph was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence brought something special to everyone who knew him. He was a retired 1st Pressman, a career in which he took great pride.

Joseph was best known for his distinctive collection of hats, his love of collecting knives, his appreciation for 1970s and 1980s rock and roll, and his enjoyment of movies. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He was an excellent provider who was always willing to help others, and his loyalty to the people he loved was one of his greatest qualities.

Joseph was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debby Reynolds-Norman, His mother Francis, his father Fred, his sister Essie and his 2 brothers Johnny and Joe Lewis.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Dana Norman-Carter, Nyia Norman, Jason Norman, and Earl West his grandchildren, Joseph, Davon, Alexa, Samira, Desmond, and Kaige; his siblings, Evelyn Norman and Harvey Norman; along with extended family, friends, and many others whose lives he touched.

Joseph will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His love for his family, his generosity, his loyalty, and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

If you knew Joseph, you loved him. His memory will live on through his family, his stories, and all the lives he touched.
