Joseph Richard Liptak, 75 of Wallington passed away on December 14, 2025. Born in Passaic, he has been a resident of Wallington for 15 years. Joseph worked for the Passaic Police Department for over 20 years before retiring as a Lieutenant.  He was also a retired Lieutenant Commander of the US Naval Reserve. He was a devoted parishioner and Cantor of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, NJ.

Joseph will be remembered as:

Husband of Maria R. Liptak nee Grimaldo Portal

Father of Melissa and Pamela Liptak

Brother of Raymond Andrew Liptak, Jr. and his wife Barbara

Uncle of Katherine Liptak

Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.

Visiting Wednesday, December 17, from 4 – 8 PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, NJ.

Funeral Thursday, December 18, 9:45 AM at the funeral home and 11 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, NJ.

****Interment, Friday, January 9, 2026, 1 PM at BGWCD Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Rd, Wrightstown, NJ 08562. Those wishing to travel with us in procession are welcome to assemble in the parking lot of the funeral home at 10:45 AM
