Joseph Henry Flittner, 88, of Clifton, passed away on October 17, 2013. Born in Union City, he lived most of his life in Clifton. A Navy Veteran of WW II, Joseph was a Mechanic for Bendix Corporation in Teterboro for many years and later a Custodian for Holy Trinity RC Church, Passaic for 15 years, retiring in 1990. Beloved husband of the late Veronica (Merkel) who passed away in 1995. Devoted father of Peggy Popek of Brick and her late husband Louis, and Frances Slota of Clifton. Dear brother of Walter of Milford, PA. Loving grandfather of Bryan Volanto, Carrie Bloodgood, Stephen and Jared Slota. Cherished great grandfather of Ace Bloodgood.
