Joseph (Giuseppe) Lo Cascio, 93, of Clifton passed away at home on May 3, 2021. Born in Motta D'Affermo, Sicily, Italy, he came to the U.S. in 1952 and lived in Passaic before settling in Clifton 55 years ago. Joseph was a member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsworkers and worked as a mason and bricklayer for several contractors including Jerome S. Morici Inc. and R. Lomauro and Sons before working at Passaic General Hospital until he retired.
He enjoyed tending to his garden with his tomatoes, fig trees and grapevines. He was a very good cook and baker and his specialties included cucidate (Sicilian fig cookies), pizza and breads. He enjoyed the fruits of his labor with a glass of red wine (preferably homemade which he used to make himself years ago). He also loved watching westerns and Cheyenne was one of his favorites.
He was predeceased by his two brothers, Giovanni Lo Cascio, and his wife Arcangela. and Francesco Lo Cascio, all of Motta D'Affermo.
Loving husband of Rosa (Pittari) Lo Cascio for almost 70 years. Beloved and devoted father of Sarina Lo Cascio of New York, NY. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Grazia Lo Cascio, in Italy and by loving nieces and nephews in the U.S. and in Italy.
