Joseph P. Carnazza, 66, of Montclair, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 3, 2014. Born in Worcester, MA, he lived in Brooklyn and Staten Island before moving to Montclair. An Army Veteran, Joseph was an Assistant Professor at several Colleges and Universities including Baruch College and Columbia University in Manhattan, and Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken. Joseph enjoyed watching his children playing sports, and he also enjoyed biking, hockey, reading and laughing. Devoted husband of Paula (Schuster). Beloved father of Kathryn, Gregory and Matthew Carnazza, all of Montclair. Loving son of Anne Marie (Campbell) Lynch of Spencer, MA. Dear brother of Stephen and his wife Susan of Marion, MA, John and his wife Steffanie of Spencer, MA, James and his wife Cornelia of Holden, MA, and the late Paul and Susan Carnazza and Mary Mowatt. Loving uncle of many nieces and nephews. Funeral Saturday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Cassian's RC Church, Montclair. Visiting Thursday 7-9 PM and Friday 4-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment, Tuesday, October 14, 11 AM at St. John's Cemetery, Worcester, MA.
