Jose Luis "Joe" Bautista, 66, of Nutley, passed away on June 16, 2022. Born in Izcuchaca, Peru, Joe came to the US in 1968 and first settled in Jersey City before moving to Nutley in 2007. Joe was a pro tennis instructor for the Maywood Tennis Club for 17 years before retiring in 2021.

Joe loved to spend time with family and friends in the outdoors. His true passion was and always will be tennis. He was a phenomenal player and teacher to all. Joe was a man of his word and full of vast knowledge. He was someone you could always go to for useful advice. He touched everyone's life in a special way. He was a firm believer of Take pride in how far you've come. Have faith in how far you can go, but don't forget to enjoy the journey. Joe will be greatly missed by all.

Beloved husband of Fe Ocampo. Devoted father of Colleen Bautista and her husband Nicholas Morin of Secaucus and Steve Bautista of Secaucus. Cherished grandfather of Madison Rosalie Lopez and Nicholas Joseph Morin, Jr. Dear brother of Celia Bautista, Vides Bautista and Marin Bautista. Beloved uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday from 6-8PM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave, Clifton. A prayer service will begin at 7:30PM. Cremation was private.
