Jose M. Cortes, 78, of Paterson passed away on April 25, 2015. Born in Puerto Rico, Jose moved to Paterson in 1957 and lived in North Carolina before moving back to Paterson. Jose was a Machinist for Thomas Electronics in Wayne. Beloved husband of the late Cruz Cortes, who passed away in 2007. Devoted father of Gloria Rodriguez of Paterson, Miguel A. Cortes of Paterson, Yanis Cortes of Fayetteville, NC, and Adam Cortes of Paterson. Loving son of the late Isabel Cortes and Angelica (Perales) Cortes. Cherished grandfather of Eric Rodriguez, Jessica Rodriguez, Tatiana Quinones, and Nevaeh Velez. Adored great grandfather of Kaylynn Rodriguez, Max Latorre and Jace Latorre. Dear brother of Armindo Cortes, Rosa Cortes, and Nelly Lugo, all of Puerto Rico, and the late Josephine Alicea, Octavio, Victor, Antonio, and William Cortes. Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Funeral Thursday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Avenue, Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, Clifton. Interment, Fair Lawn Cemetery, Fair Lawn. Visiting Wednesday 6-9 PM at the funeral home.
