John F. Schmidt, 75, of Clifton, passed away on September 17, 2019. Born in Passaic, he was a lifelong resident of Clifton.

A parishioner of St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton, John was a Firefighter for the Passaic Fire Department for 25 years, retiring in 2000.

Beloved husband for 38 years of Patricia (Posluszny). Devoted father of Craig of Hackensack, and Lisa Schmidt and her fiance Daniel Van Dyke of Totowa.

Funeral Saturday 7:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 9 AM at St. John Kanty RC Church, Clifton. Interment, Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson. Visiting Friday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
