John Sawicki, 97, of Loveland, OH, formerly of Saddle Brook, passed away on September 27, 2015. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he lived in Saddle Brook for over 40 years and Port Charlotte and Tamarac FL, before moving to Loveland in 2012. A former parishioner of Ss. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Passaic, John was close friends with members of the Glinka Russian Folk Dance Group for many years. A proud Army Veteran, John was a Staff Sargent during WW II. John was the foreman in the Color Department for Three Printers in Cedar Grove where he worked for 37 years, retiring in 1983. Beloved husband of the late Josephine (Niemiec) who passed away in 2002. Devoted father of Daniel of Lighthouse Point, FL, Stanley of Middletown, NJ, Dr. Richard of Loveland, OH, and Katherine Sawicki of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Loving grandfather of Victoria, Daniel, Karen, Kevin, Richard, II, and Jennifer. Dear brother of Jadwiga Baran of Connecticut. Predeceased by 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral Saturday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at Ss. Peter and Paul RO Cathedral, Passaic. Interment, Ss. Peter and Paul RO Cemetery, Saddle Brook.
