John Rydzaj, of Clifton passed away January 5, 2011. Born in Poland he came to the US in 1947, settling in Clifton and was a parishioner of Assumption of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church, Clifton.

An Army Veteran of the Korean War, John was a Chemical Operator for Hoffmann-LaRoche in Nutley for 31 years, retiring in 1985.

Beloved husband of the late Olga (Parahus) who passed away in January 2009. Devoted father of Thomas Rydzaj and his wife Stephanie of Rhode Island, Johanna Rydzaj and her husband Eric Moore of Flanders, Pauline Rydzaj of Clifton, Stephanie Marulli and her husband Richard of Rochelle Park, Daria Chasse and her husband John of Verona, Kristina Rydzaj and her husband Victor Lindholm of Belle Mead, and the late Evelyn Rydzaj who passed away in 1987. Loving grandfather of Amanda, Richard, Christopher, Tabitha, Isabella, Alexandra, James and Jonathan.

Funeral Monday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at Assumption of the Holy Virgin Orthodox Church. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM with Panikhida at 8 PM. www.shookfh.com
