John J. Majernik, 94, of Clifton, passed away on November 27, 2012. Born in Lisbon Falls, Maine, he went to Slovakia as a child, returning to the US in 1938 and lived in Passaic before moving to Clifton in 1950. A parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Cathedral, Passaic, John was a member of the Holy Name Society. John worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1939 to 1941, and later was a Machinist for Curtiss-Wright in Wood Ridge, where he worked for 25 years, retiring many years ago. John was a member of the Curtiss-Wright Retirees and the UAW. Beloved husband of the late Mary C. (Cooper), who passed away in 2007. Devoted father of Diana Clough and her husband Don of Millstone Twsp, Daniel Mayernik of Clifton, and the late John Mayernik, who passed away in 2009. Dear brother of Maria of Slovakia. Funeral Saturday 7:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 9 AM at St. Michael's Cathedral, Passaic. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, South Hackensack.
