John Joseph Leane, 81, of NYC, on January 15, 2010. Born in the Inwood section of Manhattan, John was a lifelong resident of NYC. A graduate of Brother Rice High School in NYC, John attended both Maryknoll College in Clarks Summit, PA and Columbia University in NYC. An Army Veteran, John served in Korea in 1951 and 1952, during the height of the Korean War. Before retiring, John was a Postal Clerk for the US Postal Service, and worked for the Advertising Department of Borden's in NYC. Beloved son of the late Timothy J. and Rose Anne (McLoughlin) Leane. Devoted brother of Sister Mary Leane, P.B.V.M., the former Sister Mary Teresa of Clifton. Funeral Tuesday 8:30 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 9:30 AM at St. Andrew the Apostle RC Church, 400 Mt. Prospect Ave., Clifton. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. Visiting Monday 3-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Sisters of the Presentation, Mt.
