Obituary

John Kopach, 88, of Clifton, passed away on September 11, 2014. Born in the Singac section of Little Falls, he lived there and in Garfield before moving to Clifton 60 years ago. A parishioner of St. John the Baptist Russian Orthodox Church, Little Falls, John was a tenor in the choir. John also sang with the Russian Liturgical Singers, The Don Cossack Choir and the Russian Capella Chorus. A Tail Gunner for the US Air Force during WW II, John is a member of the American Legion and the Masonic Lodge. John received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University and worked for Western Electric in Kearny, AT&T in Newark and Alcatel Lucent. Beloved husband for 63 years of Anna (Popiwchak). Devoted father of Diane Simet of Hillsdale and the late John Kopach, MD, who passed away in 2011. Loving grandfather of Nicole and Jason Simet. Dear brother of Steve. Uncle of several nieces and nephews. Funeral Thursday 8:30 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. John the Baptist RO Church, Little Falls. Interment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting Wednesday 2-5 PM at the funeral home with Parastas at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations made to St. John's RO Church, 29 Weaver St., Little Falls, NJ 07424, in memory of John, would be greatly appreciated.
