John Kondra's Obituary
John Kondra, 99, of Clifton, passed away on February 7, 2018. Born in Clifton, he was a lifelong resident.
A parishioner of St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Cathedral, Passaic, John was a member of the Holy Name Society and spent countless hours volunteering for the church.
A US Army Air Force Veteran during WW II, John proudly served his country in France and England. Before retiring in 1982, John worked for Kearfott Corp., Little Falls, in the Aerospace Division, in Tool and Gauge, Inspection and Design for 25 years.
Beloved husband for over 65 years of the late Bertha "Bertie" (Bonczek) who passed away in 2011. Devoted father of Thomas and his wife Diana of Rockaway. Loving grandfather of Stephanie, Alexandra and Jude Christopher. Cherished great grandfather of Sean Kondra, Brayden and Jameson Rodgers. Dear brother of the late Emil and Larry.
Funeral Tuesday 8:45 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Cathedral Chapel, Woodland Park. Interment, Calvary Cemetery, Paterson. Visiting Monday 4-8 PM at the funeral home, Parastas at 4:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to St. Michael's Cathedral, 96 First St., Passaic, NJ 07055, in memory of John, would be greatly appreciated.
