John "Jay" Jacobowitz, 83, of Clifton, passed away on May 7, 2012. Born in Passaic, he lived in the Passaic/Clifton area all of his life. A parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, Clifton, Jay was a member of the Feather Merchant Sports Club. An Army Veteran of the Korean War, Jay was a Warehouse Supervisor for many years, retiring several years ago. Beloved husband for 61 years of Anna (Blaskowitz). Devoted father of Karen Chowansky and her husband Aftan of Newtown, PA. Loving grandfather of Andrea Mammarella and her husband Dominic and Amy Chowansky. Dear brother of the late Mildred Wozniak. Funeral Tuesday 9 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10 AM at St. Philip the Apostle RC Church, Clifton. Entombment, East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
