John George Hariton, 86, of Clifton, passed away on October 6, 2012. Born in Toledo, OH, he lived in Astoria, Queens, and Rutherford, before moving to Clifton in 1960. A parishioner of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Clifton, John served on the Parish Council for many years. A US Navy Veteran of WW II, John was a Chemical Operator for Hoffman-LaRoche in Nutley for 20 years, retiring in 1989, and was a member of the Roche Retirees. Beloved husband for 52 years of the late Kalomera (Cousoulis) who passed away in 2010. Devoted father of Lisa Marcopulos and her husband Nicholas of North Caldwell, and George Hariton and his wife Mary Ann of Clifton. Dear brother of James of Astoria. Loving grandfather of Kristen and Ryan. Funeral Thursday 9:30 AM at the Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, and 10:30 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 818 Valley Rd., Clifton, NJ 07013.
