John Richard Filippone passed away at the age of 79 on Friday, November 19, 2021.  A longtime resident of Clifton, NJ, he had been residing with his wife Linda in Toms River, NJ the last ten years.  He started working with the family business, Filippone Dairy, in Clifton and later moved to the chain of department stores Valley Fair holding the title of Manager in the Candy and Tobacco departments.  Afterwards he started his own grocery business at the Union Market in Union, NJ.

Richie, as he was known to all of his friends and family, loved taking road trips with his wife whenever they had the opportunity.  If he wasn't on the road, he loved spending time with family at home as well as the summertime barbeques.

As a season ticket holder from the days of Yankee Stadium for the New York Giants, he was fortunate to see the team win three Super Bowl titles.  He is survived by his wife Linda (Kredatus), son Richie Jr., and daughter Amy (Stoller) and her husband Mark.  He also leaves behind his grand-daughters Samantha Filippone and Emma and Mia Stoller.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, December 19 at Shook Funeral Home on Van Houten Avenue in Clifton, NJ from 1-3pm.  In-lieu of flowers donations to the St Jude' Children's Research Hospital may be sent.
